Please join me this year (2026) for the roll-out of Mercy Row, a new creative chapter in my work that feels so different from what I've done before that it called out for a new name.
In confronting a life-altering illness these past four years, the songs flowing from me now are arriving in a different way, sometimes fully formed in my head before I play a single note. I suspect I'm feeling the urgency of time in a way I haven't before, so nothing gets put off, despite unrelenting fatigue. The songs of Mercy Row are built on orchestral pop and a raw intimacy, never wavering from their essential definition of being a pop tune (three minutes of bliss!).
The first release is a cover of the Duran Duran classic, "Ordinary World." To listen and watch, kindly click the image above. If it resonates, I’d love to hear what you feel—there’s a space for that under the video on YouTube.
Mercy Row stands as both a refuge and a reckoning -- equal parts escapism and confrontation, where I dare myself to love and accept what can feel so deeply unacceptable, like an incurable illness.
Songs will be released monthly through 2026, along with demos, short chat videos, plus surprises I'm sure I'm not yet anticipating.
I make this music simply to connect us, hoping that those living through their own darkest moments will find the music of Mercy Row a temporary respite from the loneliness that deep suffering can bring, if only during the few minutes that we meet through song.
